Romantic Dramatic Classic

Polished Bombshell

Your face is more than what it literally looks like.

In a literal sense, Romantic Dramatic Classic faces are already amazing, with curvy Romantic, razor-edged Dramatic, and symmetrical Classic features:

Romantic Dramatic Classic Olivia Culpo

And in a figurative sense, Romantic Dramatic Classics look capable and powerful.

Their beauty says, “I’m going to make things happen—and look impeccable while doing it.”

Romantic Dramatic Classic Bella Thorne

Before typing Bella Thorne, I thought she might have Gamine, maybe because I associate her with having a high-energy hair color. But her vibe is more powerful than playful:

Bella Thorne’s serious aura clashes with this quirky Gamine top. The top says, “Let’s have fun,” but her face’s Romantic Dramatic Classic vibe says, “We have important things to achieve—and later we’ll throw a glamorous party to celebrate.”

As we’ll soon see, Romantic Dramatic Classic fashion embodies the beauty of hard work and of sensational celebration, combining the two in an unlikely union.

Romantic Dramatic Classic Fashion

Romantic Dramatic Classics have a highly versatile aesthetic.

One version of the RDC aesthetic is “sexy business woman:”

Romantic Dramatic Classic aesthetic

This is what I mean about RDC fashion and faces looking capable and powerful. The body-con Romantic fit, Classic neckline, bag, and overall minimalism, plus sleek Dramatic pointed toe boots and hair—this outfit is like the visual personification of having your life together.

Plus it has an amazing understated sexiness. Something about it not being too overtly sexy—having a very covered neckline and midi length—makes the fitted silhouette in deep red even more alluring.

Another version of the glam businesswoman aesthetic:

highly polished Romantic Dramatic Classic outfit

I love the Dramatic long line and contrast created by this black dress with white trim. A Romantic slit adds sensuality, and the dress’s symmetry plus simple bag and precise medium red lip add Classic.

Again, this is a “take over the world (and look fantastic while doing it)” kind of outfit.

Neutral color schemes are also perfect for RDC’s formal vibe.

Another sexy business outfit, this time with:

  • Simple, modest Classic neckline and necklace

  • Curve-emphasizing body-con Romantic fit with bust and waist emphasis

  • Dramatic sleek pointed toe shoes and stiff tote with oversized geometric print.

Now we’ll transition out of the office to another key domain of RDC attire: eveningwear.

Romantic Dramatic Classic outfit with daring neckline

A sexy, shiny, body-con Romantic dress. The extreme depth of the sharp neckline and slicked back hair add Dramatic. The overall simplicity and watch add Classic, while the heels work for Romantic Classic.

Some Romantic Dramatic Classics might have a ton of Romantic and only a little Classic. If this is you, your best outfits might scream more “party” than “productivity”—and still be just as stunning:

Romantic Dramatic Classic dress with daringly short hemline

Romantic lace and body-con with super-short Dramatic hemline. The modest, basic neckline suits Classic, though the overall Classic here is very minimal.

Romantic Dramatic dress (works for Theatrical Romantic too)

If you’re highly Romantic, you can choose between plunging down neckline and plunging up slit, or do both. The stark minimalism and sleek hair add Dramatic. This is risque for Classic, but you could accessorize with a simple watch or flats.

Romantic Dramatic Classic Faces

Like RDC fashion, RDC faces look elaborate, powerful, and polished.

RDC Astrid Berges-Frisbey has striking bone structure and glam features (ultra-pouty lips) plus symmetrical, evenly spaced features.

But interestingly, in this somewhat understated makeup and tousled hair, she has an almost sweet look that could make us think Ingenue, maybe with the youth and playfulness of Gamine. Her bone structure, while potentially intimidating and Dramatic, might be assumed to be Natural.

But here’s what happens when she’s styled like a Natural Gamine Ingenue:

Astrid Berges-Frisbey’s face is still stunning, and the outfit is extremely cute, but combined together, it’s a mismatch.

With more polished hair and makeup, we can better see her striking beauty:

While other types can easily get lost when they wear heavy makeup and elaborate fashion, what’s more typical for RDC is that their features get lost when their hair, makeup, and outfits aren’t formal or glamorous enough.

Romantic Dramatic Classic Makeup and Hair

Just like their faces, RDC makeup and hair are elaborate and striking.

Here are some RDC celebrities providing great hair and makeup inspiration:

Romantic Dramatic Classic Olivia Culpo shines in

bold, extremely well groomed brows and statement eyes contrasted with unnaturally pale lips.

A paradox of being an RDC is you can actually look more natural and authentic in “unnatural” styling, like glam false lashes and super pale lips. That’s the wonder of your inherently formal aura.

Sleek center-pared hair tucked behind the ears is also a great simple Dramatic hairstyle.

Again we see how intense makeup, including miles-long lashes, provides the kind of drama that perfectly suits the RDC face. This sort of makeup can appear too artificial on other types, but it’s amazing for RDC Demetria McKinney.

The hair is reading as more Ingenue and dress has some Gamine, so there’s mismatch between her face and its context—but still it’s fantastic makeup.

Sanaa Lathan in styling that flatters her style essences

Romantic Dramatic Classic Sanaa Lathan, rocking great RDC makeup—smokey eyes, glossy lips, contour. Her hair, earrings, and top also work for RDC, creating beautiful harmony.

Veering into something more realistic for everyday, we see RDC Gal Gadot with highly Classic, polished, and understated brows, eyes, and lips.

Hair totally off the face is awesome for Dramatic, and the bit of volume suits Romantic.

If you’re an RDC will a lot of Classic, this will be great makeup for you, though RDC tends to be able to take even heavier applications, especially for eye emphasis:

Many style types will have a tricky time answering the question of “to tightline or not to tightline.” This is because many style types combine at least one essence that’s amazing in tightlining with at least one essence for which tightlining looks extremely harsh.

As an RDC, all your essences are flattered by tightlining. So it enhances the allure of your eyes, demonstrated here by RDC Arden Cho.

If you don’t like lining the inside of your eyes, you can also do upper and lower eyeliner on your lids, applying it adjacent to your lashline, as well doing upper and lower mascara, to get a similar effect.

Michelle Keegan, displaying the RDC magic of looking relaxed in extremely high amounts of makeup.

Hair with volume at the crown is great for Romanic, and a bit of messiness and teased quality can also work, as long as it appears sensual and intentional.

Romantic Dramatic Classic Cindy Crawford in a smokey eye that suits her beauty type

RDC Cindy Crawford in great smokey eyes, upper and lower lashes, and glossy lips.

This will sound nitpicky and also blasphemous to our bold-brows-worshipping culture, but to harmonize with her essence blend, her brows could be slightly more groomed—nothing crazy, just either filling in the sparser parts toward the tails or (gasp) plucking the sparse parts. If you look at all the RDCs we’ve seen so far, you’ll notice that they all have extremely precise brows—which is the brow style that best flatters RDC. Again, as an RDC, your most authentic look is so groomed, it can appear “unnatural.”

RDC Jessica Alba sports a more understated makeup look for RDC. The eyes have lash emphasis but feel light, as do the lips. Contour on the cheeks ties in her Dramatic essence, but it’s subtle enough where it’s hard to tell if it’s makeup or just the shadow created by her inherently powerful bone structure.

The wavy ponytail with volume at the crown is also a great RDC look.

Color Season Connection

Any style type can be harmonious with any color season. And sometimes you even get to have more fun when your style type and color season aren’t an obvious match.

But if there’s a season that overall best captures the elaborate and aristocratic vibe of RDC, it would probably be Winter.

And one thing that RDCs and Winters have in common is that both tend to look “lost” or “incomplete” if their makeup is too restrained.

Classics are great in a look that feels restrained, so if you’re highly Classic, you might want to add a good bit of restraint to your RDC look.

But for the vast majortiy of people, their dominant essence isn’t Classic. So most RDCs will have primarily either a glamorous Romantic or powerful Dramatic vibe. Thus, when their styling is too understated, it doesn’t adequately balance their beauty.

Similarly, the Winter color season is characterized by vivid, intense, bold colors. When Winters wear gentler, more faded colors outside their palettes, the effect is lackluster. It “washes them out” when they wear shades that aren’t as vivid as they are.

If you’re an RDC Winter (like Dark Winter Gal Gadot), it’s easy to make your style type and color season mesh.

If you have a non-Winter season, you get to have a lot of fun finding ways to make your season work with your type. More on that here.

Who are Romantic Dramatic Classics confused with?

Romantic Dramatic Classics can easily be mistaken for having Gamine, because related Gamine blends—like Romantic Dramatic Gamine, Romantic Classic Gamine, and Dramatic Classic Gamine—also tend to be able to handle a high amount of makeup and are flattered by a bold, intense srdyhryiv.

As we discussed above with Bella Thorne, the trick is to determine whether the person appears authentic and genuine in high-energy, humorous fashion, or rather if their serious vibe looks almost annoyed by Gamine’s antics.

Many other essence combinations, even without Gamine, can also look very similar to RDC. These include Romantic Ethereal Dramatic, Romantic Natural Classic, and Romantic Dramatic Ingenue .

What’s unique to RDC (compared to blends with a lot of Ethereal, Natural, or Ingenue) is that RDCs tend to be able to wear the heaviest makeup.

So when it comes to determining if your essence blend, you might want to consider if you can pull off the miraculous feat of making extremely glamorous, polished, and well-groomed makeup look authentic, natural, and “not too much” with your face.

Polished Bombshell

Romantic Dramatic Classics have an amazing aesthetic. For many of us, it’s very easy to wear makeup and fashion that feels too intense and too dressed up. For RDC, that threshold is far higher—you can take so much makeup, and such elaborate fashion, before you reach the point where it feels like “too much.”

Being an RDC can be a challenge in the modern world because mainstream fashion is decidedly casual.

But the specialness of your RDC beauty makes up for its challenges—you have a face that exudes glamour and prestige, and that reminds us of the extraordinary fact that some people look most natural and authentic in a high-maintenance aesthetic.
