Unique Models

The fashion world loves standout faces, and Dramatic Naturals deliver that. They look distinctive and memorable.

Famous Dramatic Natural models include:

—Arizona Muse (pictured above)

—Claudia Schiffer

—Erin Wasson

Dramatic Natural faces often fit some conventional beauty standards, like having modelesque bone structure.

But they also project an unmistakably individualistic kind of beauty—bold, broad, angular features with unique proportions.

Dramatic Natural faces evoke the word character. They create the impression that a vibrant personality radiates through their interesting features.

A criticism of many modern celebrities is that they all look the same. And we might wonder whether this conformity bleeds into something deeper.

Like, if society’s ideal is that we all look the same, is its ideal also that we all think, feel, and act the same?

Dramatic Naturals have a powerful aesthetic because it’s both popular and unconventional. They remind us of the beauty of being different.

Elite Athletes

Dramatic and Natural are also the two style essences that most embody strength.

And so far, most of the professional athletes I’ve typed are Dramatic Natural, including:

—Gabrielle Reece

—Hope Solo

—Serena Williams

—Stacy Keibler

And a couple other athletes I’ve typed are Dramatic Natural blends:

—Maria Sharapova (Ethereal Dramatic Natural)

—Lindsay Vonn (Dramatic Natural Classic)

Is there a relationship between athletic ability and having Dramatic Natural?

Maybe but maybe not—this correlation might go away after I type more professional athletes.

Regardless of whether Dramatic Naturals tend to be athletic, their faces convey a sense of strength and related qualities—competence, striving, courage, and capability.

Looking at Dramatic Natural faces might even evoke a response similar to hearing energizing music—boosting motivation and determination.

Key Dramatic Natural Qualities

Elongation.

Long shapes define both Dramatic and Natural—although Natural often reads as broad and sometimes as more wide than long.

Modelesque bone structure.

Most high fashion models have Dramatic, and many have Natural.

Strong faces.

Dramatic Naturals project a powerful vibe.

Character.

Dramatic Natural faces have interesting shapes and angles. They feel original.

Body Type and Style Type?

Since Dramatic and Natural are both elongated essences, are Dramatic Naturals tall?

Not necessarily.

For example, Dramatic Natural Sarah Jessica Parker is somewhat short—only 5 feet 3 inches.

So body type doesn’t always match style type.

Speaking of SJP—

Thoughts on Dramatic Natural Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City

Sex and the City is considered iconic especially for its fashion.

And on the show, Sarah Jessica Parker wears lots of styles beyond just Dramatic and Natural.

And that’s ok! If it’s going to make you happy to sometimes wear fashion that doesn’t fit your essences—or if it’s going to make an iconic fictional character come to life—then definitely do that.

Also, of all the types, highly Dramatic people like Sarah Jessica Parker tend to have the easiest time pulling off essences outside their type.

This is because Dramatics can appear so striking and imposing, their faces can look harmonious when they break the rules, including wearing fashions way outside their style guidelines.

Dramatic Natural or Ethereal Dramatic Natural?

I’ve gotten several questions about whether celebrities I’ve typed as Dramatic Natural have Ethereal, too.

This makes sense—Dramatic Natural and Ethereal Dramatic Natural can look really similar, for two key reasons:

  1. All three essences are elongated.

  2. The the combined vibe of supernatural Dramatic and laidback Natural can easily replicate the supernatural and laidback vibe of Ethereal.

So distinguishing DN from EDN can be extremely difficult.

My solution is always virtual draping—testing the face’s most harmonious lines and styles.

Thinking about hair can be helpful, too—are they flattered by Ethereal mermaid waves, or are sleek Dramatic or straight layered Natural cuts much better?

The tricky part is that Dramatic Naturals—and all the types—are so beautiful, it’s easy to see them as harmonious in anything.

The photos below may not depict the most flattering styling for Dramatic Natural Dichen Lachman, but regardless, she is gorgeous. Whether or not her hair and outfit perfectly match her face, you can still see the powerful beauty of her Dramatic Natural features.

When we learn about the style essences, we can more deeply understand and appreciate our beauty and the beauty of others, regardless of what we’re wearing.

The Best Part of Style Analysis?

And that may be the best part of style analysis.

Style analysis is great not just because it enables us to dramatically enhance our beauty.

It’s also great because ultimately, when we recognize the unique literal and figurative features of each type, then a person’s beauty will be evident to us regardless of styling.

Another Great Part of Style Analysis

Another great part about style analysis is that within each type, there are endless options for looking harmonious while still being highly creative. Dramatic Naturals in particular are gorgeous when layering pieces that kind of seem like they shouldn’t be layered, like sweaters over jackets. If you’re a Dramatic Natural like Allison Williams, you can even pull off wearing two long coats layered over a coat-like dress.
