Dramatic Style Essence

If someone is “striking,” they’re attractive in a conspicuous, captivating way. “Striking” is a good term to describe Dramatic beauty.

Karlie Kloss has the Dramatic style essence with smaller amounts of the Gamine and Classic style essences.

Dramatic faces are characterized by sharp, elongated shapes. Due to these shapes’ large size and their intensity (e.g., being sharp rather than blunt), highly Dramatic faces are often attention-grabbing.

Celebrities with the Dramatic style type

Examples of celebrities with a lot of the Dramatic style essence include Karlie Kloss, Jessica Szohr, Kristin Kreuk, Allison Williams, and Lucy Liu. All have elongated, sharp features and an intense type of beauty.

Key Dramatic characteristics

Common facial characteristics associated with Dramatics include:

  • Sharp, rectangular hairlines

  • Widow’s peaks

  • Dense, dark, angular eyebrows

  • Sharp, narrow, horizontally elongated eyes, often upturned

  • Long, straight, sometimes prominent noses. Noses will sometimes have flared nostrils

  • Flat or thin lips, especially a thin upper lip, on a relatively wide mouth

  • Narrow, elongated, and sharp cheeks, jaws, and chins

Importantly, you don’t have to have all or even most of the above characteristics to have a significant amount of the Dramatic style essence. Even if your face only has a single feature of a given essence, that will typically be enough to make it a significant essence for you. So even if your jaw is your only Dramatic feature, for example, you’ll still likely have a significant amount of the Dramatic style essence.

You may also have features that deviate from the above descriptions but are still Dramatic. And most people are blended types, so even people high in Dramatic tend to have notable amounts of other essences.

Dramatic fashion

Dramatics look harmonious in fashion, hair, and makeup that mimics their elongated, sharp bone structure. So clothes that comprise elongated, sharp shapes, especially if those shapes look intense or intimidating, suit Dramatics perfectly. Narrow, sharp, elongated blazers, pointed-toe flats, sleek straight hair or sleek updos, and angular matte eyeliner are all good options.

Because Dramatic faces are so striking and attention-grabbing, clothing that is similarly striking will harmonize with Dramatic beauty. This means that Dramatics are gorgeous in unusual, even avant-garde styles, as long as those styles consist of sharp, elongated shapes.

Are Dramatics tall?

Since Dramatics are defined by facial elongation, we might expect them to be tall. Karlie Kloss is strongly Dramatic, and she’s 6 feet 2 inches. But Lucy Liu also has a lot of Dramatic, and she’s nearly a foot shorter than Karlie at 5 foot 3. So even people who are average or below average height can be highly Dramatic.

Lucy is harmonious in hair and makeup that mirror her sleek facial features. She has a strongly Dramatic face despite only being 5’3’’.

Regardless of height, people with highly Dramatic faces often appear powerful and sometimes intimidating. Given their striking beauty, which harmonizes well with avant-garde styles, Dramatics are heavily represented as high fashion models. They may also be typecast in film and TV as villains. But depending on the context (such as their facial expressions, styling, and other essences), Dramatics can appear less intimidating. With their unqiue and powerful beauty, Dramatics can also appear strong, noble, otherworldly, and sublime.
